Astrophotography Trifecta

Description
I remember taking this shot (which is a surprise, considering I took 278 shots that night) thinking that it was really going to be a dud. The light in the trees is the setting first quarter moon. I was worried that the bright moonlight would blow out the image and wash out everything else, but I was wrong! In addition to the moon, I got the Milky Way (which was what I was shooting for), and the red band is something called an SAR Arc, or Stable Auroral Red Arc. SAR Arcs are rare for auroral displays, which are already very rare here in Pennsylvania, so I consider myself really lucky to have caught this! Shot at Spruce Flats Bog in Forbes State Forest near Laurel Summit State Park, Rector, PA on October 10th, 2024
