Acme Tree Under the Core
Description
The Milky Way over Acme Dam Lake at Chestnut Ridge Park, Donegal, PA. I have always really liked this lone tree in the middle of the field near the boat ramp. I shot it with a narrower lens than I usually use for a nightscape so the Milky Way Core fills the sky in this image and I used a pair of LED pucks to uplight the tree. I'm pretty happy with this image, but it was a lot of work to get it to you. This image just really didn't want to be shared, I guess: I had all sorts of struggles with crazy artifacting with my image editing software on this and I jut could not get the bizarre gradients and moire patterns to go away. I finally gave up and stacked 2 images into a single image and that seemed to do the trick.
