Night Falls at the Falls

The lights of Niagara Falls, NY shine in the background above the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Fallson August 17th, 2025. This is one of my Bucket List shots that I have wanted to get since I started being serious about photography. Shot from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, this shot was the culmination of over 9 miles of walking that day, probably close to 3 of them at night just to get this shot, and big props to my wife who trudged around town with me, an exhausted and deranged man obsessed with getting the shot. It started with a trip to the Table Rock Welcome Center, but the winds were a little too strong and we were confronted with a soaking wall of mist. Then it was off to the Power Station and the Tunnel where the view of the falls was amazing, but the mist was so intense that I was not able to get any usable shots of the falls. Then up to the viewing terrace behind the casino, but alas, too many trees and not enough of a view over the hillside. Finally, knowing I had got some great daylight shots of the falls near Queen Victoria Park. There was way too much mist to capture the Horseshoe Falls, but I loved this shot lit in the colors of the rainbow.
