The Witch's Broom

My latest project from my Bortle 5 backyard in Armbrust, PA has been NGC6960, the Western Veil Nebula, also called the Witch's Broom. This is my favorite astrophotography image I have taken so far! It is part of the Cygnus Loop, a huge supernova remnant 2400 light years away. Once I got into deep sky object photography, this area is one that I was super excited to photograph because of the fine wisps of the nebula and the beautiful colors. Of course it was winter when I finally got it all figured out and had to wait 6 months for summer nebula season to return.
